Emilia-Romagna is best known for its red sparkling wine 'Lambrusco' . It is a magnificent savoury wine that perfectly matches gastronomic offerings of Procsiutto and of course Parmesan cheese.
The region is South of the River Po and is flat and very fertile producing vast yeilds of grapes.

Camillo Donati, Lambrusco IGT, 2016, Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Camillo Donati, Lambrusco IGT, 2016, Emilia-Romagna, Italy
The sparkling red wine is a full-bodied lambrusco, with a good structure. It is also excellent when aged.
The clone is Lambrusco Maestri. Mainly cultivated on the flat area for its characteristic ability to withstand dampness and mold and for its generous productivity, yet it turned out to be an excellent vine to be grown in the hills as well. Here, where its fertility is definitely lower and it cannot be watered, it is raised according to the Guyot system, with severe pruning (only 7/10 buds per fruiting arm), small yields but higher quality. The resulting wine is full-bodied lambrusco, with a good structure.

Camillo Donati Malvasia Rosa IGT, 2015, Emilia-Romagna, Italy
After the mother of Camillo passed away in 2006, he decided to dedicate her a wine naming Rosa like his mother name (rosa means also pink in Italian). The wine is a blend of white Malvasia and 5% of red grape (Camillo won’t reveal which grape…) to give the pink color. A fantastically different style of sparkling Rose.
